Unfinished 350, complete 700R4 z28 replica

Hello, this is my first time posting in the forum in a few months, I have recently sold my Camaro with no title only to find another one with a title a few months later for a hell of a deal the first one was brought for $100 bucks no title, this one with title is being brought for $400. Here's the story on the new one; I call a guy about a listing i see on CL. He says he still has the car but due to him recently having a kidney transplant he has done no more to the car, he says that he installed the engine the transmission but never put on the distributor, the carb etc. it has the big block 350 paired with a 700R4 trans. Guy says he will hold it for me because I need a new daily driver. Is it at all worth it. The 350 and trans are new never been cranked driven on or used. Please help I don't want to get burned for $400 bucks. Thanks

350 isn't a "big block".

As far as "worth it", that would depend on (a) the condition of the car itself; (b) the quality of the motor build, since after all, that can vary WILDLY, and all 350s aren't "equal"; (c) whether the 700 - the stock transmission for these cars - works; and so forth.

Although for $400, it's probably a decent risk, as far as the value of the pile of stuff. But, no telling from out here of course, whether it's ready to turn into instant daily driver. Definitely some major risk involved there.

I have seen the car. Rust free, garage kept, straight body, the guy hasn't put all of it together yet. I think I will take a chance at her, after all I r spent $400 bucks on a lot more. Will it take a lot of work and can I gets it together in a week or two just to drive it home? The intake is off the carb is off. I am really interested in the car. Just don't want to get burned. And thanks for the small block big block correction. Much appreciated

there is a pontiac 350 which is a big block back in the 70's if it is possible that he put one of those in it
