I just bought a 82` Firebird and it has a 2.5 fuel injected engine and a saginaw four speed. I am seeking advice on what I will need to do. Thanks

 

Are you planning a Pontiac 350? Or a Chevy 350?

I read most of that thread and I didn't see one that would help exactly.

 

Ok, so either I get a Pontiac 350 from a 81 Trans Am from my neighbor, or go buy a Chevy 350 on Craigslist about double the cost or so.

 

It would help us a lot of you told us your final plans and patictlars.

Desired HP?
Carb or EFI?
Budget?
LSx or SBC?
Transmission?

The short list of things you'll need is the motor, trans, computer & harness, v8 front coil springs & sway bar, v8 radiator. Your best bet is to find a good running wrecked/rusty thirdgen with the motor & trans you want.

 

What skills do you have? Can you weld? What equipment do you have? does the price difference outweigh the cost of adapters needed?

I was going to put a carbuered 350 in place of the fuel injected four cylinder. I may just keep it stock. I have a great 4 speed Saginaw transmission from the four cylinder. I have a shop I can work on it at and around 500 dollars. I was thinking about using it for some other stuff though, paint, etc.
