Starting a hydraulic street build.

Thank you Jim for agreeing to build me a 434. For me it will be the ultimate pump gas hydraulic roller street motor. I first contacted him looking to get a 421 but after discussing what i wanted, he brought up the idea of a 434. It will only be driven as a weekend toy. When i say "street" motor, I mean the wildest I can get and still be reliable and tuned for driving on the street. It will be fuel injected. I am leaning in the direction of a 7730 SD EBL P4 Flash for EFI tuning. Looking to turn it in the 6500 rpm range. I know I can gain more from solid roller and really turn up the rpm's but looking for no maintance and streetable rpm power curve. After parts list is complete and decided upon, short block components will be ordered. Goal is a solid 600 FWHP pump gas street toy. Anyone have any suggestions for cam, pistons, lifters, or anything else I may be missing?

Re: Starting a hydraulic street build.

Hi. Glad your on your way. If your going hydraulic roller lifter, the cranes are the way to go, but there pricy. You have to use a 5/16 pushrod on afr heads and I used smith brothers .116 wall with a shaft end. Cam I aslo used a crane unit but had them cut it on a billit core which is recommended. The cam was a 110 lobe and we changed it to 112, because of that the duration changed two degrees. Went from 240-242 intake and exhaust went from 246-248. Im using a miniram as most do with these big strokers. I sent you a pm regarding the porting of the unit which you will need to do as they only flow around 305 out of the box. Would recommend an aftermarket efi system as well. If your trans is electronically controller the holley dominator efi is the way to go. Keep us updated. Take care.
