Best Vortec Heads for a TBI 377 swap??

My dad has a 377 he's giving to me. It has Roller Rockers, Cheetah Rods, and other high exspense parts in it. I'm looking to tune it down to around 350hp- 400hp. What would be the best type of Vortec heads for it? I plan on keeping it TBI and running pump gas.

It doesn't much matter which factory 350 Vortec head you use (just don't get suckered into 305 Vortec heads).

So, that sort of assumes when you say, "best Vortec heads", you are assuming they would not be factory heads.

Maybe I assume too much.

What heads does it have now? You said it has roller rockers, so it must have heads.

Maybe all you need to do is swap to a milder cam, put the TBI on (you are upgrading the TBI intake manifold, right?), and run it.

Right now it has a pair of Dart heads, a beefy roller cam, and dome pistons. It was a 13:1 compression motor my dad used for drag racing. We thought about just changing the pistons and the cam. But the heads are just too large. I don't want to spend the money for aluminum heads, so why not just buy vortec heads?

Just trying to figure out what you were asking.

What are you planning for an intake manifold? Most any TBI-specific intake would be a severe restriction on a 377.

I was going to use a high rise intake with a TBI adapter plate.

Well, that's good to hear.

Might want to consider this kit:

if you go on to comps website they have a cam quest, you can put your info in it and it will help you pick a cam that would work best for you, then you can see what kind of hp and tq it should produce, remember its just on paper not an exact number
