305/350 swap problems

thanks for your tip. fuel pump is fairly new, however I have seen high volume pumps on the market for this application. just another quick question. I have also had to block off the fuel return line. If I keep the return line unblocked, the car will not run at all. if I block it off, fuel pressure jumps to 11psi. I have not altered anything with the fuel system, its all still stock. so why would my return line need to be blocked? other than fuel pump just not putting out enough to keep it running? I also noticed on the 350TBI set up on the trucks, do not have this return line at all. any advice on this as well? thanks. much appreciated.
