Hi all, I have a question and need feedback on this one. I have a 91 rs Camaro 305 tbi, and a zz4 crate motor carb'd that has been rebuilt couple years and just been sitting in my 85 all this time. The plan is that I put that motor (350) in my 91 rs with tbi system so I can keep the stock fuel injection. Now all I know is that I can do this with a tbi adapter plate on it and need to upgrade my injectors to 454 ones, and rest is plug and play.
Now what tbi adapter do I need to get(brand etc)? And does that sound right? I would hate to do this and it doesn't even work correctly. This is my daily driver so I plan on doing this on my spring break next week.

 

What about fuel pump etc? I'm thinking it's going to need more gas or something
New to tbi system, had been working on the carb for awhile and wanna learn the tbi system and not cut up my stock wires.

 

I'd imagine you could just buy a walbro pump and regulate to the correct psi. You could probably buy all of it from summit. Your sending unit might be different if the one was a carb car and the other tbi but I'm just going from what I had to do for a tbi to carb swap. Hopefully this will get you started

 

Thanks cypris09, can anyone else chime in? So definetly have a new pump? Seems like everyone went to carb route from tbi, but I'm going other way around to not cut up my wires. And I don't think it helps with more electrical 91'

 

As far as the tbi harness goes thats all on passenger side. I didn't cut any wires but fyi my entire harness was tangled and wrapped up. Was a total pain to not just cut the harness

A TPI fuel pump should be good for at least 400 fwhp with the big TBI injectors.

+ Knock Sensor #10456288 and ESC Module #16128261 for the 350.

+ tuned EBL flash and a VRFPR.

 

Id recommend bumping this project to the summer. Its not a week long project if you dont have all your ducks lined up. Since it looks like you're starting research the week before, this is a doomed conversion

 

Yeah I'm pushing this into the summer until I can completely understand how this swap works. What does EBL flash VRFPR ESCmodule do? Does anyone got a good article I could read? Keep in mind I got a 350 carb that needs to go tbi via adapter plate. Thanks Thomas, I'm writing those down. Sorry for long delay, been busy last week to do a reply in this thread.
