2.8 to 350
I'm going to do a v6 to v8 swap on my 87 ccamaro, and I have a few questions.
1. I'm going to use a 700r4, I believe the lockup for forth is computer controlled if I use my v6 wire harness and go carbed can I get away with just swapping in a v8 700r4 and hooking it up,the same way as a v6
2. There is a corvette only junkyard near me can I use a 350 tpi, trans, wire harness and ecu from the Vette and just plug into my car?
3. I'm not doing this as a project I'm trying to make it into a daily, but I want to do the swap right, I've seen so many hacked swaps in these cars i just want to,know what I need to build it right, so how much of the v6 harness can I use of I go carbed is my main question would The trans be fine? I know I need lower fuel pressure for a carb I know I need to wire a switch for the fans and will do,that anyway, how would I do the wiring for the rest of the car?
4. I'm trying to do a cheaper build more for reliability than performance, in your guys opinion what would be the best route to go about this?

For a carb'ed v8 swap you do not need most of the factory wiring harness.
You can use the stock v6 harness and cut, remove, lengthened some of the wires to work perfect.
Find a wiring diagram for the car and pull the v6 out and just look at the diagram and wires in front of you.
You will keep all the factory front light wires, horn, wipers, HVAC, gauge wires, stater, alt, etc.
You will need to run one 12 volt switched wire to your carb's elec choke if you run an elec choke type carb.
You will need to bypass the low oil pressure fuel pump cut off or install a pressure switch into your V8 engine for the low oil fuel pump cut off.
Install a mallory adjustable fuel pressure reg.
You will need a TV cable adapter and bracket for what ever type carb you use
You can run a 700r4 with out the lock up function with out any trouble or you can buy a kit to wire up the lock up or you can make it your self using a brake light switch and a toggle switch
If you have a factory tach, it will not read right with a v8 engine. You can replace just the tach part of factory gauge cluster with a V8 factory tach.

Re: 2.8 to 350
750 cfm is way more than most need. If this will be a street use car with a 383 cid or under then all you need is a 600 to 670 cfm carb.
I run a 600 cfm on my 390 HP vortec head, mild cam, 355 in my S10.
I run a 750 cfm on my 500+ HP Brodix head, big cam, high compression 355 in my camaro
For street, street performance use I like edelbrock carbs.
The 700r4 lock up will save you some gas if you do a lot of highway type driving

Re: 2.8 to 350
getting the engine in is the easy part: order new frame mounts for a V8 from your local parts store for about $6 each. find a set of the proper engine "clamshell" mounts to bolt to the engine... you are also going to need 700r4 from a V8 powered car: any rwd trans will do, just swap your stock Camaro speedo gears and tailshaft housing onto it.. set motor and trans into the car..
the easy part is now done, now comes the fun stuff and about a million little details like the radiator, fuel line hookups, wiring, etc..
torque converter lockup can be easily wired to always lock up when it goes into 4th gear and unlock when you hit the brake pedal using most of the factory wiring. there are wiring diagrams online.
