Swap advice and stuff
Found a company that sells complete dropout engines they have some nice 5.3 and 6.0L engines for about 1k-2k with everything on them and guaranteed to work with a warranty. Only thing is there maybe surface rust and sometimes rear main seals are leaky, how much would it be to get that fixed. Also looking at going with a tk0 built 5 speed for about 2.5k. This should have no trouble mounting in the third gen right?
Re: Swap advice and stuff
Meant if the tko 5speed is different in getting it mounted then a standard t56? This car will be driven on the street occasionally with the majority of time on track. Down the road I may go turbo or supercharger so less gears would be better for boost. But just taking it one thing at a time right now. Thanks for your advice guys. I'm new to the forums here, go easy on me!
Re: Swap advice and stuff
5.3's and 6.0's are still truck engines, so the intake, FEAD and oil pans will need to change adding to the cost
Using the TKO is no different from any T5 swap. Use the 621 BH, a LS1 style clutch, LS2 CTS-V pilot bearing and whatever TOB you want

Oh cool I messages the DSS and they said they didn't have much available for fourth gens. Good to know there are options.
How much do the F body accesories usually run? With the f body accesories will I need a cowl hood? I was hoping to pick up one of those hoods with a slightly raised cowl but also one of those ram air type scoops in the front the style reminds me of the c6 z06 slit at the front of the hood.
