starter out of a diesel???

Would a starter off a 6.2 litre diesel bolt up to a 350??One of those would turn over an 11-1 compression motor no problem right?I have an old truck that's going to be scraped and taking that starter would be alot cheaper than buying a new high torque starter.

My guess would be no. Isn't 6.2 liters about 402 cid, similar to a BBC? Im guessing that the flywheels on the two motors are different, and your starter wouln't fit. Someone correct me if Im wrong.

well, obviously, real soultion #9 tells us to just simply try it and see if it works, lol. i'm not sure if the 6.2 starter would bolt up, or not. but if you got it there, and can get it cheap or free, what the hell. try it out, and keep us posted.

Don't think so.

I could be wrong, but IIRC, the starter is on the other side of the motor in a 6.2... details...
