Throttle cable for engine swap

We finally have got our '91 convertible back on the road. I am not happy with our throttle cable setup. We built the 350 with edlebrock intake and a demon 650 carb. We used a trickflow carb bracket. This all works fine. We used a Lokar hi tech throttle cable. The problem is the throttle cable makes two sharp bends and is very stiff.
Has anyone run into this problem? What have you done to fix the problem?
Please help!
Thanks,
Dave

Re: Throttle cable for engine swap

Depends on the bends I guess. But I used a lokar SS braided universal carb cable on my 521 BBF and it too had a sharp bend or 2 in it and it worked great. Maybe theirs a difference between the two (braided vs black) as far as bend radius.

if you go longer or shorter maybe you can increase the radius of the bend or decrease (less bend or more loop).

Since mine was a universal carb cable it didn't fit out stock 3rd gen pedal, I basically welded a small tab on the stock pedal so i could use the nicer more flexable universal lokar cable end. Worked great for 5 years now I just pulled it out for a LS1 universal style bc Im going supercharged 5.3 LS. Cable is for sale if you wanted to try it.
