Car: 1992 RS camaro
Engine: 305 TBI
Transmission: 700r4
Axle/Gears: .273
92 camaro rs 25th anniversary edition 305 to 400 sbc swap
In the process of trying to swap the 305 to a 400 sbc bored .30 over. 350 vortec heads scat bottom end dish pistons comp thumpr cam and attempting to use tbi setup any suggestions or comments would be great engine is already built but gotta find time to pull original engine. Approximate compression ratio is 9.5 to 1 trying to still be able to run pump gas until i can find a good supercharger to throw on it and a better fuel system want to go with tpi but cant afford it atm so im going to throw the tbi on it for a little while. 400 sbc pic and pic of car included

You may already know you will need a intake manifold to fit the vortec style heads. A tbi off a 454 truck may work for a 406, ask in the tbi forum. It has been done before I think. The thumper cam may not play well with a tpi or tbi with out many modification . A carb would get it running, all though you'll have to make a good choice for that also. I have a quad

It is a very mild thumpr and i already got the 454 tbi setup and i have a vortec intake with tbi adapter plate

Also can i use 305 oil pan or will i need a different one cause i know the 305 oil dipstick is on the opposite side

You will need a different oil pan. A 2 piece rear seal, left hand dip stick pan.
Do you have the correct fly wheel and balancer?
Do you have the holes for your starter?
Do you have the holes on front of block for power steering pump mount?
You may need to add clearance for the oil/fuel sending unit. I had to grind the block a little on the oil filter area.
