parts from one engine to another
So, i have a 1985 305 with a bad block and heads, new intake and new carb, and a 1994 305 TBI engine. My question is this.....can i take the intake and carb off the 85 engine, and put on the 94 engine? Thanks in advance!

Not quite; but you can easily buy an intake to fit the 94 motor for real cheeeeeeeep, and a 86-up flex plate, and then use everything else off the 85 motor on it.

Yea, i know i can buy a new intake, but the intake on the 85 is only a couple months old. I was hoping to pop off the intake and car, and put it on the 94?

Parts either fit or they don't. It could still be NIB and the advice wouldn't change.
It's possible to make it fit by elongating the holes and using angle washers but as cheeeeeeeeep as intakes are, better to just sell the one that doesn't fit and buy one that does.

Yep, Chevy used 3 intake bolt patterns on the sbc engines. 1955-85, 1986-95, then 1996-00 vortec
The 55-85 has 12 bolts with all bolts at a pretty steep angle.
86-95 has 12 bolts with the 4 center bolts at much less of an angle, just about straight down.
96-00 vortec has 8 bolts, no center bolts and all go straight down.
You can take an '55-85 intake and drill/slot the center bolt holes out, then use angle washers or a blob of RTV to seal up around the bolts and use it on 86-95 heads.
