Hi I need a little guidance as I have swapped in a 87 TPI engine correct ecm WC T5 trans in my 91 RS that had the 305 TBI AUTo. It runs great .VSS hooked up but still dying occassionally on decell. The trans came with the VSS sensor and it plugs in to my 87 Camaro harness I adapted so I assume it is the right one. I have grounded B10 Park neutral that may be tied to the VSS signal? Would that be a problem. Also I am not sure of the buffer box being correct for 2 pulse VSS. Is there a 2 pulse one made for MAF? I have an aftermarket programmable speedo would it be possible to wire around buffer to speedo and cruise or would it drowned out the signal, Any part numbers of correct buffer or VSS sensor for 5 speed. I am an old retiree with electronics background but my mind could use some new blood. Any help surely Appreciated Thanks Mike

 

In my experience you can't use an '87 harness in a '90 & up car.
It will cause many problems like you are having.
My advice, get the right harness and change to speed density.

 

Thanks for replying Don ,Maybe this a first for Maf in 91 I guess,Car is running Everything working need to test drive after bypassing buffer 2K VSS to Intellitronix dash. There is no neutral park switch imput on 165 corvette ecm that had manual trans so that is ok, I wanted the Maf system as I have a 262 compucam . This thing is a powerhouse engine,I ported the aluminum heads and did all the intake mods, headers 3' full exhaust.I think my IAC may need cleaning. Combining the 2 harnesses was not all that bad. If my 2 pulse VSS sender is bad do you know where I could purchase I have no speedo cable output in my WCt5 ,Just sender for electric dash. Appreciate you replying. Thanks Mike
