Engine: Lb9
Transmission: M20
Axle/Gears: J65 pbr on stock posi 10bolt
Re: ecu

If your going tpi yes you will need a 1227730 ecm. Sticking with the lo3 you can use the same ecm but timing could be improved with a custom burned prom.

Re: ecu

You also need a memcal, the code axxb for a lb9 automatic is still available.
Acdelco 16163062. If you have issues finding a memcal send me a pm I have a few.

Re: ecu

thanks, you have been very helpful. ive looked around a little and i have found some memcals. once the car is finished i would like to have my car tuned, i am not very knowledgeable with the tuning of obd1 vehicles but i understand that they have to make a custom chip? do you by chance know where i could have a chip made for my car.

I was just guessing the lb9 was 90-92 if it's a speed density it uses the 1227730 ecm you will see two black connectors for the ecm and one green or yellow. If you have a maf harness you only have two plugs for the ecm. Tpi maf 86-89 uses a 1227165 ecm.
