Vortec truck 350
Vortec truck 350
Gonna drop a truck 350 vortec in my turdgen and want to know what i need for it, what oil pan, headers, ect. Ditch the stock intake, probably find a dual plane intake compatible with the vortec heads and carb. I also want a cam that will work well with the vortec valve lift. I guess i need to strip the og harness but what specifically needs trimming. Also wondering what carb i should run, will probably be using 200-4r with stall converter.

With the stock heads without work use a cam with less than 470 lift. LT1 cam or even an L98 cam would be a good choice and with a good set of headers, 3in exhaust, and 650 carb should bump close to 300 fwhp. Ive had good service with stock S10 converter.

Or drop in a LT4 hotcam, use the factory 1.5 rockers, ls6 valve springs and some comp retainers. Or the alex spring kit some people prefer.

use the oil pan off of the 305 thats currently in your car. get whatever thirdgen header you want but Dyno Don's headers are the best shorties for our cars. the LT4 hot cam is a very common solid build for stock vortec heads. there's a ton of threads on it. what is your car?
