Help guys need help on picking a cam.
Hey there guys I own a 1986 irocz that currently has a 305 tpi motor in it.I am in the procces of putting in a 60's 355 with 202/160 heads an adjustable fuel pressure regulator stock chip and stock injectors.I want to put in a mean cam, but not so mean that I will get crapy gas milage and not to mean where It doesnt do good as an all around car can you boys help me out?Also if anyone know the part nbumber or anything were I can get the cam that would aslo really help thanx.

The computer cams would work. But, even with the one I've got, the stock TPI would really hold it back. You should figure on porting the base and plenum while you've got it apart, but the long and narrow runners will not do a 350 with healthy cam any favors.
My little 305 revs right up to 6000+, but a TPI really dies at 5000 if not modified. The extra cubes of a 350 will help tame the cam, but I doubt you'd be happy with the results.
Of course, there are smaller compu cams out there.

your 305 is machined for a hydraulic roller cam and I am sure that you know that a 60's block would not be machined for this type of cam. Hydraulic rollers are the only way to go for TPI, in my opinion. Also when picking a cam for a computer controled car a 112 lobe center is ideal, anything lower like 108 or 110 and it could give your computer fits. Just some things to think about.
