92 to a 84 swap...thoughts?

ok ya'll I have 92 Firebird v6 3.1L and the engine has not been doing too good lately, a handful of things went wrong in the same week. but a buddy is offering me a 84 firebird 5.0L as a donor car. I'm gonna take it for some of the different odds and ends i need.

was thinking about switching the engine and everything i need for the swap over. Would rather have a 350 but if its free its for me.

What should be my concerns on doing this swap?

Having both cars is a huge help. I would expect to replace all the rubber bits while it is apart and I would probably give the donor motor a quick once over. The 84 did not have an EFI V8 so you will need to do something with the fuel pump If you plan on upgrades like a new cam the time to do it is while the motor is out so think about that.

The '84 has a computer controlled quadrajet carburetor. All the sensors and wiring would be a pain to transfer over. If you want to go from V6 to V8 on the cheap, consider getting a rebuilt 350 and basic carburetor.
