Simple, maybe foolish question...
Can I use my 1996 LT1 long block, to build an L98, for my 89 IROC Z 305/ Auto trans vehicle? Thinking Engine Quest heads also. Re use the TPI, distributor, add the usual 305/350 knock sensor, PROM, ESC, etc. Thanks.
If not, anyone want to buy and pick up my 1996 LT1 Core?

Accurately cut a hole for the distributor in the intake, set up a remote thermostat and sure you probably can use an LT1 with tpi components and ecm.
but being reverse cooling, different intake bolt holes and gear driven water pump will stop you from just interchanging parts between the 2.
Short answer, no, not without a complete LT1 that you'd have to meticulously modify.

Thank you.
MODS might want to shut my thread down.
