LS Build
LS Build
Hey folks, I'm looking at building a 5.3 ls engine to go in my camaro. I'd like to at some point run a turbo on it also. Here is my plan so far, but I would love some input/build ideas. If I'm headed the wrong direction with my parts list, again I would love input.
I currently have a 5.3 .020 bored aluminum block so this would be my starting piece.
Below is my ideas so far.
243 heads
forged rods and pistons (open to brands)
pac1218 springs (or a btr kit with springs retainers etc)
ss2 .585 lift cam
Hardened push rods
Arp bolts/studs
80lb injectors
tbss intake (considering aftermarket sheet metal style)
ls7 lifters
Again, just trying to start a list of what I need to start gathering.

Re: LS Build
I know most say use the iron block for boost but I think you will be ok. The bottom end is important to get right if you plan on boosting it.
Turbos and LS if you are going for a clean install (hood on exhaust out the back) is a tight fit so I would go ahead and relocate battery.
