No fuel v6-v8 swap
No fuel v6-v8 swap
Okay so I’m new to the page so if I’m making this in the wrong spot I am sorry.
I have a 89 rs that used to be v6 but now has a carb 350 small block. I am getting no fuel and would like some direction in what to look first. This is my first “muscle” car I am not familiar at all with them. The car will run with gas put down the carb but this is the only way I can start it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like the factory in tank pump either isn't wired correctly or just isn't working. I would start by making sure the relay for the pump is good and that it's getting power and is in working condition.

Re: No fuel v6-v8 swap
I've always removed the in-tank pump when swapping from any FI to carb; if your using a block mounted pump (or even an external electric) and the in-tank pump is still installed,...... you might not be able to "pull" fuel thru the in-tank pump properly.
Remember that Carbs only need about 6 pounds of fuel pressure and fuel injected pumps push too much PSI for a Carb. The fuel pressure needs to be regulated for the Carb to run properly.
