5.7 Swap Guidance
Hi all. I'm sure this has been covered a million times, but I'm not having any luck finding an answer to my question. I have a 91 rs with the 5.0 tbi. I'm going to swap in a 5.7 carb 350. My question is, what years of 350 block can I use? And besides the cam, does it make a difference whether it's a truck or car engine? I know I need a carb specific tv cable bracket, HEI and appropriate intake to complete this, but being new to chevy (used to be a mustang guy, haha) I'm not sure about the compatibility concerning block to car mounting, and also intake to block compatibility by year. Thanks!

Re: 5.7 Swap Guidance
You can do this swap and retain your fuel injection if you don't plan to go too wild. Id try to use an 87 and later roller cam 350 if I could. Any old 87-95 L05 truck motor is a direct swap though. 96-02 Vortec engine makes way more power but requires different intake but no big deal. Search it, been done a million times.
