SOLID mounts by Trans Dapt fit 100% bolt in!
Ok what Am I doing wrong..Big Block.. UMI K Member. Moroso solid Mounts.. NOTE.. only installed 2 bolts Loose in Mouts on K member so I can wiggle/adjust/move as needed..

mounts on block are finger tight only no real movement needed.

UMI K member only allows. the mouts to go on 1 way..with all 4 bolt holes lining up 100%.. cant flip them.. or tilt them.. (fyi)

Same thing happened to me, umi road race with umi’s solid mounts. Wouldnt work so i gave up and went back to poly mounts

imo there is no reason to run solids. If you want solid go motor plates

 

whos poly mounts? did ya go with.. at this point just want to get it bolted in.. and you did try UMI's solid mounts as well?

 

I was trying stock block mounts plus umi solid mounts. Even opened up the bolt holes to get em lose.

went back to stock oem clam shells with i think energy suspension poly bushings. Dropped in fine so it wasnt me that was the problem, the solids simply were wrong

 

thanks...this was a hold over from the small block (never installed it) lol like the fact I picked up the mock up eng..can sit it in (both hands) but easy to do.. in and out 3 times in 10 min. playn with the mounts... so it should work with the top mount in gold/none stock moroso mounts.. and moded stock clam shell mounts with energy suspension poly bushings installed in them..
I don't have the stock upper mounts any more lost years ago.. I see one from time to time in the shop..lol

are the brakets the bolt to the block the same to ea other..no difference..left or right side..

 

From what I remember the block side mounts are side specific

 

so nobody makes big block Brakets for a 3rd gen. ? Cant use the GM block brakets without cutting them up to fit my Pan (make them look like moroso's)
moroso "they never put a big block in a 3rd gen" so we dont make anything for that...(WTF?)
can any body tell me if the hole hight is the same left and right side looks to be 2 1/4" from center of Hole to base (meets block) NOT THE CLAM SHELL BRAKETS. but THE NASTY LOOKING GM brakets bolted to the block. are the the same..just left and right..I dont have any to look at..

the clam shell mounts I can mod have my old set

is there anybody making a K Member and Mounts For a Big block Install?

 

Ok looks like this is the one that will work.. fitment is the same as stock parts.. sold as a kit they tell me it will work.. as the UMI K Member is set up to take the Stock parts.
On a side note: solid or Poly..just want to get it in and set up..

they look like the Moroso Mounts.. But they are not..the moroso mounts have a left side right side..and are marked so..

The Trans Dapt mounts are different heights.. BUT NOT MARKED left and right.. and thay are even shorter by a full 1/4" over all..

 

wanting to add a front plate the the eng as it is.. To mount a vacuum Pump to. as well as take some of the stress of the sides of the Aluminum Block. having to buy a plate Ed Quay. and mod it my needs.. have a plate set up now.. but need a larger set up..

 

Thats the same accessory kit i have, except im using mechanical water pump

 

the only nice looking braket pulley set up.. for a standard deck block. that drops the set up down out of the way..I like it..
Its a Nice easy set up.. there is only one thing that Bugs me.. is the alternator Mount... now mine as never been run so it might be fine.. but the back of the mount dose nothing to the alternator. I made my support Bracket out of Billet. a simple Bar. from Head to back of the alt.. this might Do nothing.. but I can Tell you now the alt.. it dont move at all now.. it will get a polish. and corners rounded..to make nice...

 

Alternator is fine, doesnt seem to need much support. Been 7500 on mine with the bbc and similar in the sbc never an issue

 

good to know. did Mine from just the looks. and grabbing it with my hands and giving it a wiggle.. sorta thing..over thinking it..one of my problems..Over thinking things.. to the Point it slows down everything..

like..Example..Me.. thinking Is the return line to close to the headers...lets add a 90 to it to bring it away from the Header tube.. even more..Lol when in fact the tube Is coated to Keep heat down.. and its the return line with fluid flowing in it to start with..lol

 

covering all my bases. also looking for a set of the top brackets to go with the base motor mounts.. listed in the want to buy as well.. lost one of mine...

 

UPDATE ON Mounts.. SOLID They fit BOLT IN..



As you can see below. they fit with out any manipulation..(drop in).. finnish is Lacking..(BBQ paint from the looks) but Ill have the chrome Plated..Like every thing else.

this test fit. is just 2 bolts ea side.. all bolt holes line up.. and I have a full 1 3/4" to the bottom of my pan..



the pan is all sheet aluminum.. and is Light Wt.


Now lets talk about Moroso..I My self have had other Items from them not fitting..example 700R4 sheet Fabricated Trans Pan..it never fit any 700R4..parts of the Valve Body would keep the pan from fitting (bolt all the way down)/not deep [size=13px]enough[/size] .. they redid there entire set up for that pan after i showed them the pics..of my set up..in the end they sent me a fee Pan..and I [size=13px]received[/size] a refund from summit. to boot..
come to fined out..when they did the mock up for the fab line..the trans had a few missing parts..oops.. not fitting..

now the motor mounts..Morosos are a tad too tall on both the block bracket by 1/4" and the K member bracket by another 1/8th" this moves every thing up..and with that only 1 side will fit//you pick what side..lol.. will still do a set with the poly mounts..If the GM block brackets fit with My Pan..

on a side note...lots of side notes...

the Trans dapt Mounts like Morosos one side is shorter.. by 1/8" then the other.. THAT WOULD BE THE passenger side.. But it is Not Marked.. Moroso marks there's Driver side/Passenger side (they dont fit) But they are Marked.. so if they dont fit the BBC..they will not fit the SBC.. think there car they used to get the size must have been in a wreck...lol
