I am trying to put together a Vortec 350 for my 84.

I am using the regular long water pump, and a Jegs 555-513002 intake.

After installing the manifold I dry fitted the waterpump and attempted to attach the alternator bracket, and the hole where it bolts to the intake does not line up.

I tried a spare bracket I had to make sure it had not gotten bent and it was the same.

 

You are going to have to use much more modern accessory brackets, or aftermarket brackets.

March Performance has some inexpensive Black colored (instead of polished aluminum) brackets that will work.
