Curious questions in regards to engine swap.

I know I need bigger injectors for a 350 tbi but does it take the 61lb or 66lb injectors? Thanks in advanced!

I also am wondering if the 350 is compatible with the stock 92 5.0 tranny, think it was the 700r4?

I am concerned because people say this swap is ez pz but everytime I put my car into x website for their stock 350 tbi's it says incompatible.

The 350 and 305 use the SAME transmission...

Re: Curious questions in regards to engine swap.

The websites are telling you the parts are incompatible because they didn't come from the factory that way. Looking up replacement parts for your car only works for stock parts as it came on the car, if you're doing something else then you must know whether it fits or not.

Ah! I don't mean to necro this thread. I missed the replies and had to put looking for parts on hold. That's what I had figured about it showing incompatible. I figured it was just saying that since the car didn't come with it or its other components so I have to just do research and learn what fits or not.

People are saying the 700r4 works directly with a 350 tbi but on Jeggs they were saying I might need "You can use either transmission with this engine. You may need a different flexplate and crank adapter." What would be the reason for this? Would I need this personally in a 92 Camaro?https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/059/8758/10002/-1 was the one I was looking at.

I've found so many different 350 TBI's for trucks/suvs and what have you, varying horsepower... Does it matter which one I buy? I don't want to end up buying a 350 that doesn't work. I was told to go with the 61lb fuel injectors since that's standard for a 350, LxE6 ESC module but are those components the same across all 350's? As in, if I buy those should they be the right ones? If not I would probably need to be directed to the proper 350 since I am just not sure. Alternatively I could just try to find a 91-92 Caprice engine directly, I was told those components should work for a Cap.

I feel bad asking so many questions, I am just a little overwhelmed. This is my first time and I'm not rich so I don't want to do it wrong.

Re: Curious questions in regards to engine swap.

You're never going to get correct advice from a website; they don't know what you're doing. Fundamentally you're looking for a 1pc rms block with heads that your intake can bolt to, it would seem that motor from jegs would fit the bill. If you are doing the swap, then you need to know what parts work for yourself. Relying on "experts" (myself included) to tell you what's going to work and what isn't will leave you stranded in nobody-told-me victimville the minute an unforseen circumstance arises. If you're keeping stock TBI, seems like you'll need to make these changes:

https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tbi/...-350-swap.html

With respect to the flexplate and crank adapter, try bolting your old one on to the new one and see what happens. If it isn't working out, you needed to buy a new one anyway.
