Nissan RB25DET Swap
Nissan RB25DET Swap
I'm close to purchasing a RB25DET for my 3rd gen camaro, i know it'll take a lot of fab work and such but i'm worried about the vertical clearance. does anyone know of this being done before? Will it clear with or without a cowl hood or not at all? i've seen a few 2JZ swaps but i have no engine to measure to compare. thanks

Re: Nissan RB25DET Swap
Its 28” tall from what i seen. Which is about ls1 motor dimensions or a 5.3/6.0 with fbody pan. Should fit. Its 30.5” long i think which is a touch longer than factory sbc. Same as a big block. It will depend on lower end oil pan shape to kmember clearance

It looks like it's within a half inch of an ls1's height, same for width. I think you'd be fine. I'm hoping it works, just because that sounds interesting. I'd love to see a good I6 option in these.
