Ls swap question

Hello I’m swapping a ls1 into my 1985 Camaro and I’ve been reading the threads on the mating the ls harness and stock harness and it mentions for keeping the gauges im going with the intelitronix digital gauges which call for running its own sensors and all that so do I really need to mate the harnesses or can I just splice a few to make it work?

Re: Ls swap question

You can run your gages to each individual sensor on the motor. The only gage reading that the ECM needs to see is coolant (engine harness will be separate from chassis and gage harness). You can run two sending units though. You can run these connections through your C100 junction, or through the passenger side fender junction. Once you see the routing in hand it becomes more clear.
