Repurpose return line

Slowly collecting parts for my ls swap, and was curious if anyone had converted to a returnless system, and used the old return line to hook to the evap canister on the 4th gen tank to make everything functional? My plan would be to use the c5 filter at the back, have the original feed line still be the feed, but then just use the old return line as the middleman between the evap solenoid and the canister on the tank. Any reason this wouldn't work?

If it is the right size and without leaks, go for it.

Doesnt a return-less set-up still have a return line. It just Tees off at the filter and goes back to the tank.

Re: Repurpose return line

Right, but I can do all of that plumbing at the rear. So feed --> C5 Filter --> Feed & return to the tank, then reuse the return from the engine bay as the evap line.
