I am rebuilding my LS1 and the heads are taller than stock also I will need to go with slightly taller valve covers. My question is has anyone had the A/C air box come in contact with a taller head and valve cover set up? I have read that the coil might need to be re located. I really would like to have A/C and i am trying to have new parts for it prior to installing the engine.

 

Yes it will likely contact. Member and you tube channel LSXMatt has an episode where he shows how he notched a fiberglass relief into the box. The relief allows everything to fit, including coils.

To be honest it may be something he did to his firebird project.

 

Has anyone altered the air box for clearance, any pictures or suggestions I would greatly appreciate. I watched a bunch of LSXMATT videos and I was not able to find where he did it.
