A few questions

I am looking at putting a GMPP Ram Jet 350 crate engine into an 1989 GTA. Does anyone know of any problems with this swap? Or does anybody know of any other good EFI crate engines out there?

Also, does anyone know how much torque a World Class T5 manual tranny can handle? What about a T56?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome aboard.

Intriguing engine, isn't it? I considered one for the '57 to give it that "57-like FI" look. But, I think if I do a RamJet, it'll be the 502 in the '57. By then, the Camaro will be emissions-exempt, and I can put the 396 in it!

I did a few searches and the best thread I came up with is https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...threadid=22485 . Even that is a little scant on details.

You do understand that the RamJet computer is an open-loop system (won't be friends with your factory computer), and that the plenum probably won't clear a flat hood. Personally, I think it's best left to retrofit pre-FI usage, like GM says in their own info. Scoggin Dickey offers crate engines that are more suitable as longblock upgrades to a currently-EFI setup.

I believe I've heard the WC T5 will take around 325 ft-lbs, and the T56 about a hundred more.
