ok i have the stock carbed LG4 305 in my 86 z28 the stock heads are shot so i fount some Vortec 305 heads that are milled port & polished i donno what year they came out of or what the came out of at that my question is will the heads fit on my motor w/o replacing the intake manifold or anything else??

The intake ports are in different places. But it would be a very simple matter to swap a Vortec design intake on there at the same time as a head swap.

I haven't done this yet myself, but have done some research. Edelbrock has a couple of Vortec intake manifolds that will have the required vaccum ports. However, I don't believe that they have the EGR provisions because the heads don't. I can't remember right now where I saw this, but I believe Summit sells an EGR "re-routing" tube (five7kid knows what I am talking about). Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Do you live where the are visual emissions checks?

umm kinda they jus look for the hose from the drivers side exhaust maifold to the breather and make sure the smog pump is on the car and they dont do the exhaust test so im all good on that plus i know the guys at the shop and i coudl have a totally illegal car and get a inspection sticker i could go in w/open headers and they wouldnt care
