good price for a used LS1?
good price for a used LS1?
There's a guy nearby that's selling the LS1 engine complete out of his '00 Camaro with all the sensors and the wiring harness. Supposedly it only has 9K miles and it's still in the car so you can hear it run. Is the price any good? I haven't shopped around for used ls1's but this popped up so I'm wondering.

I'd say $3500, with the transmission, is a pretty good price. If not, then it's only a fair price (even given the low mileage). I've seen them go for $3500 with transmission before from junkyards. Depends on your luck of the draw, it seems...
Make sure that the PCM is included in that price as well, as that's a couple hundred bucks by itself.

A search today on eBay showed LS1 w/out transmission sold for $2225 all the way up to $4510 for a complete LS1 'vette drivetrain. Paying $5000 for just a motor/harness/pcm is too much, IMNSHO.

There's a 38000 miler with a $4400 "buy-it-now" on eBay right now: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eb...tem=1815075550 ends on the 28th, if you're really interested. A little higher than I'd pay personally, but seems to come with just about everything.
