Tips N' Tricks

Ok guys, my 305 to 350 swap is less than a week away, and with this im gonna need all the help i can get! So i was wondering if everyone can post there TIPS N' TRICKS that they uses for there motor swaps. What works, what doesnt? How to lable stuff, pictures.blah blah blah. Thanks guys!

Might be a good idea to tell us what sort of induction you have.

I never mark anything. The wiring connections are pretty foolproof, but you can get the vacuum stuff mixed up. Take a couple pics of where the wiring harnesses and vacuum stuff routes, label stuff on masking tape and wrap that around the vacuum lines, and just go to it. If you really want, you can do the wiring the same way. Other than that, should be pretty straighforward as far as engine swaps go. If this is your first, get some help from a friend and plan a couple days for install. Removal should be pretty easy.

Dont forget the ground wires on the back of the heads.

Definitely mark the vacuum lines, there has to be 10 of them on there or close. Those are the last thing you want to get mixed up. Mark the starter wires and what terminals they go on too, people mix those up alot.
