Future Plans?

I'm carrying over the trend from the cat delete post as I didn't want to hijack it

Rob was saying that he was probably going to get a C4, I hope you will also still keep the IROC? Was the vert you had really creaky and loose? I still love the look of the 'verts but couldn't handle the unibody's inherant flaws I don't think.

My plans for the IROC are as follows;

Keep it white with Gold due to frequent polls at various shows Also we all know white is faster

Put on the new dics and rotors which have been sat in the garage from "Hellllllloooooo Peter Cooper Mail Orderrrrrrrrr" For that I will look to Damo for a hand when the new baby has arrived (via stalk)

LCA's, probably just Lakewoods, maybe for Christmas.

Longer term I would love a HOT LT-4 Cam and Fast Burn heads which would put me firmly into the 12's

I also need someone to look at my axle and sort out that vibration at 100 +

That will do me for now. I want to keep the car looking basically stock (minus the lowering and exhaust tips)

So who has what projects?

Felix

Well, now that I have my car back on the road I'll be enjoying just driving her.

Yea right....My next step will be headers and a moderate high lift cam, which should eliminate most of the LG4's shortcomings. After that I'll see where the mood (and the money) takes me!

Kind of a good opportunity to ask anyone who has had experience fitting and/or buying the above mentioned items to please PM or e-mail me with any advice and reccomendations they can possibly give. Don't put them here and spoil ZZ's thread, but I have had so many different opinions and so many more different prices, I need people who have actually done it! Cheers!

Also a good opportunity to post the finished car!

Felix, why don't you start a new thread listing all of the drugs that you are taking?

I still have the Vert. As for flex, it's a trade off really. It's nice to have the top down and take it to the beach and stuff.

Your axle problem would just annoy me. Get that fixed ASAP as it is not a good thing. Don't want it upsetting anything and throwing you off the road. Incidently, I was using a local track the other day. Speed limit was limited to 50mph but as the marshals were not around at the time I proceeded to show a friend just how quickly the Beast would hit 140mph. Very.

As for me. Well I have finally got the car running properly now. I have had it in the past but I keep changing things and inflict more problems in the process. As is life. However, it is running the best it has EVER run since I have owned the car. Gordon can verify this as he has seen the botch tuning/set-up job done by the garage after the rebuild-you should see it now Gordon! It's bloody scary *manic laughter* I'm wanting to drive a stocker so that I can see how slow they are.

I think I'm going to bite the bullet and get a probuilt next year. This not shifting into 4th at WOT and the fact that my tranny isn't shifting as firm as it once was is forcing me to do it. Felix, your car shifts into 4th at WOT?

I also have a few projects to sort out that will be getting done relativley soon. Past couple of weeks I've been working on the car non stop. I wonder what people think your upto when you pull into a car park and start making alterations from the scan tool data?

Regards

Robert

Si,

Rip that plate off your front bumper. It's spoiling the look of the car.

Nice to hear you are enjoying it finally.

Si,

Love the wheels, the car is looking awesome. I quite like the Alfa style plate offset, just a matter of taste I guess.

Rob, the axle is annoying, but it is just a noise really and no noticeable vibration now. The thing is that it would probably cost a fair bit to put right as it could be a few things. My 700r4 allows 3/4 throttle only unfortunately- I need to get the B&M kit to lock it in. I may even consider a manual valve body and use her like a manual Problem there is have you tried changing into second with the right hand and fighting the wheel with the other trying to keep her straight? LOL It ain't easy.

I look foward to seeing all these cars, Phil mentioned when I saw him that we should have a gathering at some point. I think the best thing to do would have this at the strip next year sometime (got a baby on the way in 4 weeks So this year could be tricky. Also need a good 6 months before Damo's car stops pi55ing out oil LOL But I will try and sort something out Watch this board for more!!

Rob, what's the car like around a track, don't the brakes bother you after getting up to any speed or are they ok?

Cheers

I've never found that to be a problem

The brakes aren't the best at high speeds. However, it's not continuous 140mph to zero stuff that I'm doing. Brake upgrade has already been determined and will be collecting the parts on my next vacation.

Phil,

Would you stick with the 305 and build it up or go the crate route with say...a ZZ4?

If I wanted faster speeds etc then the crate engine would be the way to go, but then I don't go racing so am happy to stick with me trusty 305 until it gives up the ghost.

So what mods are you doing on the brakes Rob?

Phil, the IROC graphics thing will still be a debate when we are old and grey and bench racing I'm sure LOL

I'll never have enough power. However, in this case I think it's more down to driving ability than anything else.

V6. (just a very special V6)

(i'm not joking either, although i will stay with bolt on's untill the LG4 gives up the ghost....or i have enough money)

blaaaaaaaaaWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH...

Back to reality, the sport coupe will prolly stay V8 (ideal would be ZZ4, although Goodwrench 350 with a cam in it is more likely) due to its origionality, but i like the idea of a sport coupe with a TTA motor in it........

Ha ha ha, i'm sure it will!

funny, the older you get, the faster you were!

I MUST run up against you at some point Felix, it would be an interesting before and after test from LG4 to ZZ4.

I predict 16.5 for me....
