Dynomax, Flowmaster, or what??????

I need a new exhaust system for my 87 Z28 and have been looking at a few different options. I was wondering what some people thought about a few of the exhaust options for camaros such as the super turbo from dynomax, or the force II from flowmaster, etc. I would appreciate some suggestions and opinions. Thanks

I'd suggest the Hooker cat-back. Sound is in the signature.

I don't like Dynomax at all. My friend has it on his 88 IROC and its very quiet, even with a gutted cat. My Ravin is much louder.

Both are good mufflers in their own way, but for sound, Flowmaster.

I have been looking at the hooker exhaust from jegs and it sounds like a good idea too choose that one. Now the debate is Hooker or Flowmaster. I really haven't heard many good things about the flowmaster though.

There's nothing wrong with flowmaster, just everyone has it, though if I keep up promoting the Hooker, everyone will have that.

Yeah no kidding. How much do they pay you to plug them in every post?

Get Ravin, no one's got it.

Believe me, if I was getting paid, my car wouldn't look the way it does, or be as slow as it is.

I'm puttin on a flowmaster delta 40series muffler. supposed to be as loud as the 80 series but it's not transverse. Just one straight through muffler. I was checkin it out on the flowmaster website. Soundbite was a rustang but it did sound pretty good. Will have it on in a couple of weeks i think. Hope it will sound good. I'm sure it will with some aftermarket headers.

It just depends on what you are looking for. If you are looking for very good performance (dynomax mufflers are the best when it comes to raw flow #'s) without the extra noise, dynomax is far from "junk". I have a dynomax ultra flow muffler on my car and it sounds nice but isn't that loud. If I didn't pay $100 for it, i would have replaced it with a flowmaster 80 series or a hooker aerochamber. Both of those mufflers sound awesome.

OK, Mark won!

dallam1 here. I know the gents on the flow Master side are going to through tomatos at me but looking at every thing, I decided to go with the aero chamber for my 81 Cutty. Taking into consideration that I live in a quiet neighborhood and that I'm concerned about "too much" exhaust noise, I felt that the Aero chamber with it's 20" case verses the Flow's 14" case would in itself make for a quiter and more mellow sound. However we shall see. The muffler should be here in a couple of days and I 'll have it installed then. Of course I'll give you gents a full report. Hopefully, it won't be from jail because the home owner's association called the police on me!

MetalliCamaroRS has a very good point, it is a new muffler and nobody has it. Hooker are tried and true, flowmaster, people are even putting them on Probes, nuff said. Ravin has a different sound that is like no other. And it is much better, sorry mark, but in my mind it is.

I Have the 3"Dynomax two on the left System and it sounds pretty loud with my current setup. Ive used this type of Cat back on 4 different setups and none have sounded the same. The sound depends on what you are running before the muffler. Pipe size, cats, headers, ect.

I tried to get this little HP Jornada to hook up to my PC so I can put sound clips on here, but my PC doesn't recognize its plugged in so I could transfer the file.

Yeah I'd like to hear the ravin sound clips too I have been looking for some. The hooker cat-back sounds real good but it is exspensive and I am 17 with a 17 year olds income. I might just buy it though and take the dent in my wallet.
