Cutout in place of cat

Has anyone put a cutout where their cat used to be? I need to know if it would fit there without too much fabrication.

I just finished welding my cut-out where my cat use to be. It wasn't too hard. I placed the cut-out right at the end of the y-pipe and just welded a straight pipe at the end of the cut-out going to the plate that is attached to the hanger ( I ripped the plate off the end of the cat). I don't have a digital camera, but I'll see if I cant get a pic for you. I hope I was of some help. Good luck. I'll try to get that pic tonight.

Yeah I have the smog test, but i dont agree with it, as we are one of the only counties in the state that do it, so it's really not cleaning up the air anyhow. Plus, a handful of cars won't affect things too badly. So i'll just get it to pass somehow, and F the liberals.

Yeah see if you can get a pic. I really want to do an electric cutout, so i can control it from in the car, just incase a cop decides to pass.

Good idea on the electric cut-out. If not that you can get a cable one from Jeg's. My cut-out is after the cat and that thing is extremely loud but sounds awesome. Just let go of the gas when cops pass.

I was thinking of doing something similar to this with my car. I have a 406 and the single 3" pipe just seems too restictive. Has anyone ran there car at the track both ways and if so can you tell a difference. Or can you tell a difference in power either way.

When I first took my cat off and ran open headers I could feel a difference in power. After I welded the cut-out in and ran staight pipe to muffler I felt a slight loss of power. When I open the cut-out it feels just a bit more aggressive in low and high range rpm.
