Smoken, the 86 tpi has a 2 3/4" exshaust system and is not mandrally bent. This system flows ok as is but a good custom y-pipe would help a lot. As far as the cam is concerned it is the peanut cam of the tpi world. The 85 305tpi makes 25hp more than the 86 and it's all the cams fault, everything else is the same except the 85 ecm, which is not as good as the 86 ecm. If you want to make some extra power on the cheap I would suggest a cam swap, headers and a y-pipe. Those three mods could net you around 50hp over the stock 190 it's rated at now, maybe more.

You would not have to change manifolds with a slp y-pipe.I had one on my old car which was an 86 iroc with a 305 tpi.I would'nt suggest it to you though. It was about 200 dollars and the gains were minimal.Get a different cam and headers, the work will be worth it.
