How much were your headers you just got ? Did you get them from Jegs or Summit ? Also , do you know if you are going to run a single to dual setup and if so do they sell a pipe that will come off of the longtube headers to one pipe , like the Y pipe for the shortys . Or do you have to get something fabricated ? THANX !
I really like those headers

I paid $305 for mine thru summit i'm going with 3 inch duals.
You would have to have a custom Y pipe made, but why do that go duals. if ya goin to go single I recomend the shorties
thanx they are sweet lookin you can get the shorty version coated as well for the same price:rockon:

I have never purchased anything from Summit yet, is there a shipping charge? So far I have purchased everything from Jegs.
BTW Do the headers come with the bolts and mounting hardware? (gaskets etc...)
Thanx

Summit adds a $6.75 per order fee. Unless the item/shipment is especially heavy or large, they won't charge more.
You haven't said anything about what headers you're talking about. I paid less than $325 for mine because I got in on a 10% discount they were offering last year. They came with all the bolts & gaskets needed, but I didn't like the gaskets and got FelPro instead.
There has been talk of a Muflex (I think) y-pipe for use with long-tube headers, but I've never seen one and don't know what all they are supposed to fit. You can get Edelbrock TES and SLP headers with a y-pipe set up for dual cats, but other than that, you're on your own for duals (custom fabrication).

Mufflex does make a y-pipe. It's for long tube headers and it was designed to work with the Mufflex 4 in. exhaust system. Only problem is that there doesn't look like there is any room for cats, if you need them!

five7kid , the headers are Hedman . highhat posted some pix under the topic Hedman coated longtube , they look real nice and I have read on here that they fit real well and install aint to bad either . Uncoated they are only $104 for longtube or shorty style . I can get them coated locally for about $200 for the longtubes , but I would rather get them already done since the overall price is the same . Besides that , I think if you buy them coated it may be more durable than what the local speed shops do. I dont know this for sure , thats just what I am assuming
. highhat , I would rather have the true duals , but have no way to do it myself and dont know of anyone that can do this for me . From some of the pics I have seen on here it doesnt look like the headers come down far enough just to bolt a bullit type muffler right to the header or even some pipes leading farther back with mufflers at the ends just before the rearend . If I can do either , I will , obviously I dont care if it is loud

The two highhats at the end of the post were supposed to be in the post where I was talking to you to let you know I was commenting on the duals

I like that setup also , just not sure if I can find somewhere to get it done.We dont have emmisions laws here but I couldnt even get anyone to weld my pipes back together when I hollowed out my cats. They would look in the cats with a flashlight and say "nope cant do it you need new cats , thats against the law".
Maybe I can get someone to do it if I put my slicks on it and trailer it in there in my friends racecar trailer and tell them the car is not street driven . I am tempted to go buy a freakin' welder at this point !
