to much back pressure

to much back pressure

hey guys i got a question for you ? i have the 2.5 inch exhaust coming from the engine and manifolds and from the cat back i got a 3 inch now what i did was put a free flowing muffler on the car and removed the cat and put a mac performance pipe on . now is to much back pressure bad for the 305 tpi because my car runs terrible off the line

you can never have too much backpressure...
no not really. by doing all those things you have created less backpressure which is good.

Just by doing that, it should perform better off the line. Maybe something came loose (like a vacumn line). After I replaced the hoses on my car, it ran 100 % better.

I hope he does.

Backpressure = restriction.

Restriction = bad.

Even the big UPS trucks you see have 4.3L Chevy V6's with a 4" exhaust. Why? Because it make more TQ, and better VE, which means better MPG.
