Size of Hedman y pipe

Does anyone know the size of the hedman y pipe, p/n 17470? There's no info about it on Summitt's website.

What would be the cheapest way to get a 3" exhaust system? I will be getting the Hedman 68470 headers, with an O2 bung welded in, the y pipe, a catco convertor, past that I'm kind of lost.

if its the Y pipe for their shorty headers its 2 1/2". dissapointing huh? also, its on back order. i just got mine. i tried to get an exhaust shop to make it 3" after the Y but they couldnt without the car their, so i just too kit to the shop and had em weld a 3" cutout and 11" of 3" pipe on after the Y pipe.

i just spoke to Hedman

The down pipes are 2.25" and the the pipe after the Y is 2.5". Kinda small, but hey it's only $100.00, but the good thing is that there is an O2 bung on the y-pipe according to Hedman...I will order these and then possibly get a custom YPipe made later. Atleast this way I won't have to pay for installation, I can install all at home and drive it to a muffler shop, if so desired.

hmmmmmm, i own this piece. it was dual 2.5" that y-ed into a single 2.5" pipe. i cut off the single 2.5" tho and had a shop weld up 3" piping. this made it dual 2.5" into single 3". i also ported out the collectors. made em super smooth. this piece needs some work from the time you take it out of the box, but it can be made into a nice piece for cheap.

i dont know why they told you it is dual 2.25", maybe they changed it although i highly doubt it. weird...

Hey ALEX!!!! Haven't talked to you in a while. What happened to the Edelbrock headers? Those Hedman's have 1-5/8" primaries. Too small for a 350 IMO. Save up for a 1-3/4" header.
