Best Thunder for My Buck

Any advice/suggestions on the best exhaust for my car? 1987 Trans Am 383 stroker, 5 Speed manual. Headers are not an option for me. Live in Montana, so the Cat can go bye bye if needed. All the emissions junk is already off the car. I want deep agressive sound. I have a Flowmaster 80 on the car now with 3" cat back. Is there better out there? What do you recommend? Thanx! Oh - and I think we need to stay with the police friendly 3" pipe LOL

CUT OUT

Install a cut-out or cut-outs. CHEAP, 100% legal.... can be loud as fawk at the track, or when you're feelin risky... but you can cap it up and it's nice and quite for cops.

I just installed hedman shorties with the hedman Y into a flow-tech race ready cut-out. When it's uncapped, it is louder than my friends true duals.

I say cut-out as well, but not one you have to un-bolt the caps on. One that is controllable from inside the car would be cool. One like mine. It's run by two switches in the console or wherever. One turns on an electric pump, and the other is an air-switch. You can open & close the exhaust at will while driving around. Ther's nothin better than the look on a soccer mom's face when you downshift and open that bad boy right next to her crappy minivan then s*!t & git, then close it up and let her catch up. Priceless. I may sell mine, as it weighs quite a bit, and it's not in my car right now anyway. It is a cooooooooool toy to have though. I can't remember where it came from, but I'll post some pics if there is any interest in seein' it.

I would really like to see this. I have seen the electronically controlled ones, but never a pneumatic one. Mine just has the wing-nuts... but that's fine for me. it's right under the passenger door, so I don't have to reach way under the car.

How the hell can a T-5 Take that kind of torque?
They are only rated for something around 300ft/lbs!

Broke my car yesterday (fuel pump I think) so while I'm takin pics of the crap I have to do to remove & replace it, (like to have em just in case I forget how sumthin' goes together) I'll take some pics of the cut-out and post em. It's pretty sweet I think, Anyway I'll post some pics.

Well hell, here are some pics of my cut-out, the pump and the "harness". It's been sittin for a while, and it spent a couple years in my brother's IROC, but it works great and it dont leak. There is a broke weld on the other side, but it could be easily fixed. I'm pretty sure it came from Summit (I don't remember for sure) and the ram came from somewhere else. I just can't remember all the facts about tis damned thing. Anyway, it looks knda big but it doesn't drag and you can't see it from the side of the car. If you guys are interested, let me know. I think it cost around $250-$300 for everything. That little air switch wasn't cheap at all. The pump is a Cadillac convertible top pump. It looks pretty cool with those two switches mounted in the console lid. Everybody always thought it was NOS switches or something like that, little did they know, it was something much more devious.

And how do you decide who is in at which price level? That list is kindof unclear.

I know that list is unclear, I dont think that the guy wanted to give me too much info without having any numbers or anything. But probably it will be like the list, every 5 people it dropes by $4.
