stainless steel headers

Just a quick question.

I just bought some headers from SLP. They're stainless steel. Does this mean that they don't need to be coated? How long would they last uncoated? Or would it still be best to have them coated?

they won't rust out, but you'll have a lot more heat in the engine bay, if you don't get them coated.
