ok i ordered headers and i have and 83 z28 305 , and the guy asked me if it currently had an air pump...umm air pump? wat does it look like, what does it do? basically what is the air pump?

 

The AIR pump, if it hasn't been removed is a belt driven pump located (I think) on the passenger side of your engine. If it's there, it will have several hoses connected to it that run to the manifolds and catalytic convertor. It forces air into your exhaust to decrease emissions under certain conditions.
