i need a quick fix for my catalytic converter, it has failed and is rattling, but i have no access to a way to fix it till later, the dilemma is our annual cruz night is this saturday n i want to quick fix it, if possable, ne ideas??? its a weld in unit, bummer.....
help............ i got a bucket of bolts rattling under there...

I don't know if you'll want to do this, but here's a way: cut the I-pipe behind the cat, leaving enough room for a clamp. Grab a blunt instrument that will fit in the outlet of the cat and break the insides (is it called a substrate?) into pieces small enough to fit through the outlet. Use the motor to blow out the pieces. Now, use a piece of pipe, (you can often find correct size splices at a parts store) and two clamps to splice the I-pipe back together. I understand, depending on your exhaust you may not want to cut it, but it would get the job done. Thought I'd throw it out there...
