According to Summit Racing's web site, it's a 2 1/2" system.

Specifications:
* This is a 2 1/2 in. single exhaust system with dual tailpipes.
* For vehicles with an engine code F and code 8.

PN: WLK-17495

I too am looking for a 3" Dynomax system, but the only one I found so far was for a camaro with dual cats.

Well isn't this a predicament? I just checked the Jegs site, and sure as hell they say it's a 3" system.

289-17495
Camaro/Firebird 1986-91, w/5.0L & 5.7L-4V H.O.
Fits 1986-91 Camaro/Firebird, 5.0L/5.7L-4V H.O. and EFI (engine code F & code G). 3'' flare with loose flange connection to catalytic converter. (except 1989-91 dual catalyst. Tail pipes exit opposite sides.

I'm going to the Dynomax website and see what they say.

Well this is what the Dynomax PDF file has:

17495

1986-91

Camaro, Firebird w/5.0L, 5.7L-4V H.O. & EFI (eng. code F & code 8) 3" flare w/loose flange connection to cat. conv. (exc. 89-91) dual catalyst tail pipes exit opposite sides

But according to the diagram, it's either a 2 1/2" or 2 3/4" system. I don't think 3" flare means 3" piping. But I'm not sure.

However, Dynomax does have the part numbers on another system that is 3", but you have to buy the parts seperately. They just give you the P/N's in order to build one. The other thing is with this system is that the tailpipes exit on the same side, as opposed to the opposite sides.

When I added all the part numbers up for the 3" system it comes to $263. (that exludes the clamps) If you want the numbers, I have them written down.

Dynomax does not currently offer a true 3" catback. If you want 3", you will have to buy the pipes and muffler seperately. Thats what I did along with getting a crossflow 3" Ultraflo muffler. I think Summit has a $20 rebate on Dynomax mufflers for the month of Sept.
