is it worth switching to slp headers from edelbrock
I have edelbrock headers right now. I plan on running them to the slp loud mouth exhaust on the 350 ram jet. I also noticed on the collector for the Y-pipe that the inner pipes seem to get almost crushed in half to make them all fit. I noticed the slp collector does not do this. Is this going to be restrictive enough to give the slp headers an advantage? Would the slp Y-pipe bolt to the edelbrock headers?
If you can get over the cost, YES! I switched over a couple months ago and can honestly say it was worth it. I had a few install troubles, but once in they are definately better. I DID notice a power increase. No track times to prove it though. But any mod you can feel on the butt dyno is worth it.
The collector on that Y-pipe is horrible. SLP's design is much better.
No, the two y-pipes are not interchangable. The Edelbrock headers' collectors sit closer to the ground than the SLP's. You would have to cut off about 2-3 inches of each head pipe on the y-pipe and then create new flanges - not worth it.
You know you could have an exhaust shop make you a decent y-pipe for $150-$200...

If you have a stock motor I'd say no. The only mod I 'felt' was the stall with my stock motor.
