Have any of you guys with long tubes gotten custom y-pips made???

I'm just curious if you guys with long tube headers have gotten custom y-pipes made for your exhaust? I want to get Hooker Super Comps but I can't afford to pay the $250 for the mufflex y-pipe so I'm wondering what it would cost to have a performance exhaust shop make something very similar to the mufflex part? Thanks for the help.

well it might help if you make a Drawing for the Exhaust shop to use as guide and give you some idea on how much it would cost..

I'd like to run duals but the car is a daily driver and I don't want to deal with the ground clearance issues of a muffler under the middle of the car.

When I had single 3in with long tubes, the shop charged me just under $100 to make it.

Was your y-pipe like the mufflex one, shape and size wise, and did it have mandrel bends?
Did it also have the S-bends right off the header collector to clear the tranny and crossmember?

Here's the mufflex link for reference:

it was dual 2.5 into single 3. it routed under the crossmember and then merged into a Y just behind where the cat used to be.

with long tubes i would either recommend duals or shorties.

i had the mufflex Y and i thought it was a horrible design and it too scraped every speed bump. it goes past the tranny then it Ys right under the driveshaft...nowhere near the stock I pipe.

it also comes with a 4" outlet!!! so you have to get a 3in reducer extending this long motha even farther back under the DS.

good luck
