Passing Smog Test
Passing Smog Test
I just wanted to let everyone know that i passed my enhanced smog test in CA without the EGR. It is actually there, but my custom chip never activates it. So the things I have not working are my EGR and the air tube that connects to the converter. These are my numbers:
At 15MPH:
HC = 48 PPM (max is 133 PPM)
CO = .06% (max is .71%)
NO = 293 PPM (max is 1020 PPM)
At 25MPH:
HC = 20 PPM (max is 83 PPM)
CO = .00% (max is .58%)
NO = 288 PPM (max is 880 PPM)
So if you wanna just bolt on your EGR for a visual, and they dont do a vacuum test on the EGR, and you have a good cat, you should be ok.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that my air pump is completely gutted. Just there for visual.

Hey, more power to ya!
That three-way catalyst is doing a good job of keeping the NO down despite the loss of EGR.
Good idea to keep emissions "imposters" attached!
Gutted air pumps and non-working EGR valves are all part of the game.
