I have a flowmaster 3" inlet and dual 2.5" outlets
crossflow muffler on my 91 RS.My old Flowmaster was a 2.5" in and out on a stock exhaust system and i loved the sound. this new one is too loud, for me anyway. Does anyone have any recommendations on a quieter muffler performance or otherwise? thanks for the help....bob

Dynomax is quieter than a flowmaster, but the internal diameter is 2.5". Another alternative is a Magnaflow. I have one and I really like it. It isnot as loud inside the car when compared to a Flowmaster, but it is still loud outside. The sound is a little different too. It has a sharper, less metallic sound than the Flowmaster. It is also 3" all the way through.

you can get the "quiet" flowmaster. i have one....i want a louder one. you can tell its aftermarket and it flows like other flowmasters...supposedly giving you 15-30 hp but it is a LOT quiter than regular flowmasters.

Blackbeauty, are you running a single crossflow or duals? I checked with flowmaster and they told me that they do not make a "quieter' crossflow 3" inlet dual 2.5" outlets. If you are running a single muffler do you know the part number and where did you get it? thanks very much....bob

ok...its part number FLO-43083...its in summit catalog page 175...right side. it is 3" offset inlet/dual 2.5 outlets.
they offer a crossflow style 2.5 offset inlet/dual 2.5 outlets FLO-42583. ps...ill sell you mine for cheap. its used...duh. new they are 79.50 for the mine...the first part number...and 72.95 for the 2.5
