Are SLP header gaskets OK?

I'm hopefully getting a set of SLP headers next week. I ordered the install kit with them. Are the gaskets that SLP provide OK or not? If you have used them please let me know how long they lasted.
Would some thread lock on the header bolts be a good idea?

Do 2 of the existing studs stay in the head that have the alternator and air con support brackets fixed to them?

Thanks

Simon

They worked fine for me. They're the aluminum crush type. I've taken my headers off and reused the gaskets at least 3 times and I've never had a leak. I do recommend Stage8 header bolts though.

Oh yeah, for your 2nd question, yes. The double ended bolts will be used again so you can use the support brakets for those accessories.

Have fun!

If it comes with aluminum ones, like stated above, those are one of the best gaskets you can get.

Thanks guys. It is reassuring to know the gaskets will be OK. I know there can be fitment problems with these headers so at least thats one less thing to worry about.
I ordered a set of 1 5/8 SLP headers instead of the 1 3/4 because my car is only modified, I think they will be a little easier to fit and also because Summit was selling off cheap its few remaining SLP headers and they only had this size left. They have the air tubes fitted which I dont need so I'm planning to cut them off and weld up the holes. I'll see if I can get some stainless wire for my MIG welder otherwise I'll use mild steel wire and paint a band around that area.

Cheers

Simon

Gsk are very good, those arent studs. they are bolts with threads sticking out, yes you will reuse them. have patience and buy a couple of 3/8 coarse allen head bolts, youll see! and on pass side chase threads in head, youll thank yourself.

I didnt even use the bolts that hold the brackets. I didnt use alot of things It came with after I did the swap.

I went through the 2 sets of the paper gaskets my hooker headers came with. When i ordered my hedman longtubes I didnt use the gaskets they gave I used percys dead soft alluminum gaskets. I hope to get a good seal with them.

The gaskets that came with the hedmans were broken into a million pieces anyways.
