What kind of Y pipes do people run with this combo??
I have SLP 1 5/8 headers and the car is currently a dual cat car. I need to convert it to one cat. I already ordered a Catco 3'' cat and a 3'' Hooker AeroChamber Catback. What Y pipe do I get to feed properly into a 3'' cat? What do people run when they have these parts?
Thanks a lot, I need to order a Y pipe today (monday).

I think you're going to have to have a custom one made, I would expect it not too be cheap, at least $100 I would think.

So you mean to tell me that all of the people on here that run 3'' cats have custom made y pipes???
No not at all. Most y pipes come with headers, but what you are trying to do it would prob be cheaper to have one built. They could prob cut existing pipe and make it into 3 inch single. all header companys headers are a different style, so an interchange is almost impossible. I have access to a tubing bender and welder so its easy for me to say its easy. I build my own exhausts. I have an 90 IROC 5.7 L with SLP sing cat sys into a flowmaster cat back sys. my car was org a dual cat car but I switched it over. it wasnt to bad!
Do you not have any y pipe for them, or do you just have the dual cat one instead of the single. If you just have the dual you might be able to use a y junction to put them back together into a single 3". Just a thought. If you dont have a y-pipe, what happened? Did you buy them used.

Actually, if you get rid of the cats, dual cat has no advantage over single. The Duals merge back into a single pipe anyway, and the single if it doesnt have a cat can stay the same clear back instead of ying and merging back together. The reason the dual cats flowed better is because of poor flowing cats and you could squeeze more through 2 of them.
